Fruitti Flavouring
Recommended dose of 'proper' bait Concentrated Sweetener
3ml Natural Vanilla Extract (Supercook brand from any

First time I used these was on a day ticket water (Newton
Park nr Bath) where I landed 30 carp totalling 200lb+ &
missed/bumped off half as many in a 12 hour session, all on
one rod! Boilies were fished along with a method mix of the
Layer's Pellets & breadcrumb in 50/50 proportions (+
sweetcorn + Hemp). Better-than-average results with this
combo on harder waters.
Tip (not one of my own but works a treat): when rolling your
baits, keep back a small lump of paste to rub/roll around
your hookbait when fishing. This leaks of slowly in the
water leaving an irresistable trail to your hookbait.

Recipe 1
6oz Semolina4oz Soya Flour
6 oz Egg Biscuit
1 oz Powdered sweetener
2 Teaspoons powdered Garlic
All are based on a 3 large egg mix.
Recipe 2
5 oz Semolina4 oz Soya Flour
3 oz White Fishmeal
1 oz Fine Desiccated Coconut
3 oz Egg Biscuit
1 oz Powdered Sweetener
1 Teaspoon Allspice
Recipe 2:
Adding blue liquid colouring to this turns the
mix green, whichworks extremely well, the carp seem to prefer them to
uncoloured versions. This
recipe caught many carp on a dour day in hot
sunshine when all other baits and methods failed. The
finished bait will absorb an enormous amount of bait
soak if cooked slightly soft, but they are ok over silt.

The flavours I have used where bought in a Chinese grocery shop. Some of the flavours I have found there where the same as the ones I have bought from the tackle shop. Also worth a try (I don’t know if you can get it in the UK) is Trassi. It is an Indonesian product and it is made from fermented shrimps. It comes in small blocks of approximately 100gr and it is sealed in a small plastic bag. It has a horrible smell, but again I have done great on it (and it is cheap)".

Semolina
Maize Meal
"Hi John, my name is Alan, I have read your pages with great interest and would like to pass on anything i know to help others. I use my local Asian food shop, they are a carp anglers dream. I buy 1.5 kilo bags of ground rice, semolina, maize meal and mix the 3 together to make a boilie base mix( cost about £3 for the 3). To this you can add bird food or fishmeal or both. Also I buy tandoori paste and add 1 table spoon to a 6 egg mix, it comes out like Robin Red, only cheaper. The things I get from there would take too long to list".

0.5 Cup Welch'e Grape Jelly
0.25 Cup "Natural" Peanut Butter
0.25 Cup Soya Flour
Run enough Wheaties in your food processor to make 1 1/2 cups. Mix well 2 eggs, 1/2 cup Welche's Grape Jelly, 1/4 cup "natural" peanut butter (the oily kind). After combining these ingredients you may have to add 1/4 cup or so of soy flour for the right consistency. We use this bait with quite a bit of success on a "boilie rig".
Brit from the USA, a Paste Recipe:
Anise Oil
Advice from the USA.. Have you tried Whetties (corn flakes) breakfast food?
It works great in US for Carp. Take straight from the box
and take a hand full and put your hand into the water and
crunch and crumble. Knead into ball, then let stand for
about 3-5 minutes. Take the small ball and mold around your
hook. Let the small ball stand on the hook for 1-2 minutes.
It turns almost into a plastic and sticks on the hook well.
I sometimes add some anise oil".
